MadAbout

Privacy: the “add this event” extension

The extension lets an organizer send an event to MadAbout from the event's own page. This page says what it touches. Last updated November 3, 2026.

What it reads

The page in your active tab, and only when you click the toolbar button. It looks for the event's title, date, venue, address, price and description. It does nothing in the background and does not read any other tab or page.

What it sends

Only when you press Send. It sends the form fields as you left them (title, date, times, venue, address, description, price, ticket link), the address of the page you were on, and a random id the extension made for itself the first time you used it. It goes to MadAbout's server at madison-night-plans.madsaas.workers.dev.

The id is not tied to you. There is no account and no email, and nothing is asked for your name. It lets the server limit how many events one install can send and lets you edit an event you sent.

One other request it makes

On a Tockify event page, or a page that embeds a Tockify calendar, the extension asks tockify.com for that calendar's events so the form can be filled in. The request carries the calendar's name and a time, nothing about you.

What it stores on your computer

The random id, in the browser's extension storage. Nothing else.

What it does not do

What happens to a submission

A person at MadAbout reviews every submission before it is shown. An approved event appears on madabout.app with a link back to the page you sent it from. Like any web server, ours sees the network address of a request, which is used only to keep out abuse.

Take something down

Email hello@madsaasllc.com and we will remove the event and the id it came from.
